Emergent Cohort :: Nov 14, 8-10pm @ Princeton Seminary

We would like to invite you to the November Princeton Emergent Cohort, which will be meeting on November 14th, from 8-10pm here on campus, in the Mackay Main Lounge. Our discussion will be based around the four questions that Brian McLaren asked theological educators during his lecture here on campus last week, "The Emerging Church and Mainline Theological Education." (If you haven't listened to it, click here for the .mp3)

Below are the four questions for our discussion:

  1. What kind of Christianity do you feel you are being prepared for?
  2. What kind of leader are you trying to become?
  3. Which constituencies are you seeking to serve?
  4. Based on your answers to the above questions, do you feel you are being prepared for the type of ministry God is calling you to?
Come join us for good fellowship, hopefully a few snacks and some good conversation. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Adam, Jessie, Liam or Josh (emails found on the right).

So I'm not in New Jersey, I'm in Long Island. I went to an emergent church in Texas for the past four years, and I moved to Long Island for graduate school this fall. I really miss being a part of a church involved in these types of discussions. Just wondering if you knew of any emergent churches in new york city or long island (not likely). Thanks.

I went to University Baptist Church in Waco. There are a few others I have friends at in Austin (Mosaic), Houston(Ecclesia), and Dallas(Journey). There are more, but those are the ones I'm most familiar with.

We're conducting some research on various educational sites and ran across this page. As you know, the more information people have before spending their hard earned money -- the better. Sorry for the self promotion, just trying to get the word out while looking for sites to review.
